Our hotel has been closed over the Winter for refurbishment. These are the latest reviews received before we closed.
Very pleasant hotel with all of our family's requirements with the benefit of a family room ,the staff are very helpful, very central to Napiers deco buildings , restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay again when we return.
Clean and modern room. Walking distance to all places of interest in city centre. Many nice restaurants and cafes nearby (you won't find good coffee anywhere), antique shops etc. Parking is quite tight so you need to take care not to scratch your car. Best coffee was in Ajuba (still not up to Akl standard) and we enjoyed a meal in Mamacita and Cafe Kilim.
Had a very nice stay here the room was very clean and we dad a twin room and the beds were really comfortable . The staff were all very friendly and the prices were good. Great location and on site parking was a bonus.
Not sure why our Satnav couldn’t find this but luckily Google Maps could. From a friendly telephone service to face to face Yvonne was great good advice about things to do and places to eat. Great room with comfortable bed. All in all very enjoyable although worth noting quite a few of the car parking is a tad sqeezy.
Everyone there was very nice and professional. We arrived before the room was ready, so we were able to store our luggage in their storage room, then go on a local winery tour. When we returned, it was easy to retrieve our luggage and use a luggage cart to get it to our room. I knew there would be a 2% fee to use our credit card (standard in New Zealand), but it was pointed out to me as well, so I would not be surprised. Room was clean, which is very important to me. We were on a corner and had a nice view of Tennyson St. Several local restaurants were recommended, including one attached to the hotel.
Very comfortable stay, in a nice soft bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Minimal parking on site based on first in/first served availability. Very clean and modern hotel in a good location with plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach front, where you can enjoy amazing sunrises and black rock beaches.
Stayed here for the night, great, comfortable hotel close to everything. Super friendly service from staff, room was exceptionally clean and bed was comfortable. Will stay here again if I’m back in Napier

The reception was very warm to see "friendly". The room is very spacious, bright, very comfortable and very clean. The location is ideal and the car can stay in the car park because in the heart of the old town. The port and the rest can be done by bike (rental close) or E Bike;) I recommend this place.
We could not have asked for better service , we forgot to check in ( as had to go straight to Mission concert) Natalia was wonderful she phoned me and I explained we were still coming after the concert and bless her she waited until we checked in with a friendly greeting. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable. I would stay here again and it is within walking distance of all the places you would want to go.I have stayed many places in Napier over the last 10 years, I will definitely put this to the top of my list. Also I will use the My Chauffeur service (Fb) as they were beyond wonderful picking us up from the airport, Concert and back to airport , saving us as the mission listed double decker trip we had booked 6 mths in advance wrote a week a go and said they would not be able pick us up leaving us high and dry with a wheelchair. Checkout was very friendly and easy. Thank you Expressotel and My Chauffeur
A Very nice central place to stay at in the cosy town Napier. Helpful and kind staff. Great rooms with fridge. Take a walk around the centra, witch have nice stores, pubs, café and enjoy the architecture!
Nice and friendly hotel on a good location to visit Napier. Clean room, good shower. Fine facilities. Free parking spot for the car. Nice view on the square. Very close to the historic city centre....
Stylish and great value in Napier. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms with modern decor and a good desk to get work done. Clean and comfortable room. Walkable to the major sites in Napier. Rooms facing the park are preferred.
We dropped in during the busy season so most places were fully booked. Yvonne was very warm and friendly and did a wonderful job in securing a great room for us. She shared some interesting local knowledge to make for a very pleasant and memorable experience in the 'Art Deco' capital.
We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Expressotel where we shared a two bedroom suite with our daughter and her family. This is the second time we have stayed here, in the same set up. We arrived on Saturday after a long drive and received a warm welcome from Yvonne, the receptionist on duty. Our accommodation was clean and well presented and serviced each day. The bed was comfortable and bedding and towels of good quality. There is also the added bonus of air conditioning or heating. The room we stayed in was equipped with beverages and the interconnecting room had a kitchen area equipped with cutlery, kettle, sink, refrigerator and microwave which came in really handy for breakfasts and dining in.
expressotel is located a few minutes walk from the sea front and we would definitely stay here again should we wish to visit the lovely town of Napier.
Fantastic prices and good location within walking distance of waterfront and centre.
Parking can get full but some places in vicinity. Rooms are nicely furnished, clean and airy. Free internet and friendly staff.
